Let us help you choose the best turf for your needs. We specialize in Bermuda grass, Fescue, Zoysia and Centipede grasses. When you ask us, you tap into our deep experience with aggressive Georgia sod varieties. Poor quality sod, or the wrong turf for your purposes creates poor quality grass, and we won’t have it!

Your new sod is grown on one of our specialized farms, and has been nurtured for as long as a year and a half. It has been properly fertilized, expertly watered and mowed professionally.
The pieces are not cut until the day you plan to lay them; they are harvested first thing in the morning, when the air is coolest, to keep them moist and ready for transplant.

How to make laying new sod a total success:

Be ready to receive your order. We’re going to make certain this is coordinated. We would never just dump pallets on your lawn or at your site and drive off. We bring it when you’re there and put it where it is convenient for you.

Be ready to install the sod, or have installers waiting. The saying is, don’t make sod wait. Sod is perishable and you want to get it into the ground alive to get that lush, instant lawn. We’ll give you advice on the optimal time to install your new sod.

Make sure the dirt is properly prepared. We can advise you on effective preparation. Sod starts to form roots as soon as it is harvested. When the soil is properly prepared the roots take hold.
In addition, proper preparation prior to installation day makes the project go faster, and gets the turf growing quicker.

Provide proper care and feeding of new sod. You can get helpful advice on setting up a watering schedule, when to feed your new grass, and how to consistently care for your lawn. We’ll even help you “go green” when caring for your lawn with organics and natural practices.

The best time to lay new sod in Georgia is early spring. Grass grows best when the weather is cool. When you plant in the spring, we recommend planting early enough so the grass gets good rooting before it gets hot. Another reason for early spring sodding is that it is before recreation season begins, so you can ensure there will be less traffic on the sod. This is an important consideration when the project is in a park, a ball field, a school or recreation area and your backyard. You’ll be watering both to prepare for sod and then watering the new turf. Spring installation of sod in Georgia can allow thorough watering before summer water restrictions begin.

Not all sod is created equal. That’s why North Georgia homeowners, landscapers, developers and sport turf managers call us first. They count on a ready supply of the freshest turf, the most hardy turf grasses, and every service to ensure an excellent result.
